Bedtime Routine

Chippette has a new bedtime routine and she is adjusting really well to it. We decided that if mummy and daddy were going to be able to get away to Boston, she'd have to learn how to go to sleep without mummy. So, now we come home from school, play for a short time, have dinner, (have a meltdown), have a bath, play in Chippy's room, brush our teeth, play in Chippette's room with the lights down and 'read' a few books, then put her to bed. Normally she cries softly for 5 minutes or so, but tonight she went down without crying. She's also sleeping through the night ... From 7:30 or 8:00 until 7:00 the next morning!! Yay for the little lady!
On another note, she says 'Dunning'! It's sort of a cross between daddy and dunning, but she clearly means dunning. She started repeating it the other day when we say dunning on the computer during a Skype call. Then tonight when I asked her where dunning was she started repeating it again. Sad when she says the dogs name before she says 'mama' while referring to me. (Right now mama means 'bring me more food or I'm going to have a hissy fit!')

Crafts

Look what the lady brought home from school the other day!  Mummy was quite excited as it brought back memories of the exact same craft that mummy had made at school when she was a little girl!

Happy Valentines!

Snack Time

Wee M is continuing to develop at a rapid pace!  She's content to sit up on chairs and is quite good at climbing up on things by herself as well as getting down.  While she wasn't as fast as Chippy in learning how to do these things, she has made sure not to do them until she was certain of her own safety!  She has rarely fallen and bumped her head while becoming mobile!  Speaking of which, she is now walking almost all the time - I'd say about 80% walking to 20% crawling.

She has also had a new tooth come in - she's up to 4 on the bottom.  This has caused a few restless nights, but she's on her way back to sleeping through the night (I hope!).

She has also started to interact a lot more with Chippy.  In the tub especially she likes to splash and see his reaction (he's usually not too happy about it), and she'll crawl around over him as well.

She's starting to become more vocal when she's displeased.  Especially around food, if she see's something she wants she'll cry until she gets it.

She continues to do well at daycare.  They moved her onto a cot at nap time as of Monday and she seems to be doing well on it.  Sean said that she always has lots of energy.  Today they had arrowroots for a snack and she wouldn't stop crying until they had given her one for each hand and then replaced the one she'd eaten so she always had two cookies!  That's my girl!

Piggy

Last night Wee M decided to be a little piggy.  She ate a whole tofu hotdog, a full slice of pizza (in mini slice increments), a handful of fruits, amongst other little things!

This may have contributed to her being up a few times in the night.  While we don't want to jinx it, she slept almost 12 hours in a row the four nights previous!

Baking

Wee M was inspecting our baking tins when she came up with a game for herself.  She dropped her cereal into the tins then flipped the tin up to eat them!

Marker Time

So, when I picked Wee M up at daycare the other day they were all sitting around the table drawing with markers.  Mummy thought that was a good idea so Chippy and mummy went uptown and bought markers.  Within minutes of having them home, Wee M was covered in marker and had bitten the tip off one.  Not so sure on this idea...

February Check-in

Wee M and Mummy have been having fun while Daddy and Isaac are away.  This morning we read books ... Yes, you read that correctly!  Wee M was bringing books over to Mummy, handing them over and then sitting in her lap.  Next Wee M started a game of hiding behind Mummy and laughing while Mummy 'tried to find Wee M'.  She'd come rolling around in front of me when she was ready to be found.  She found this hilarious!

Her sleeping continues to improve almost every night.  Two nights ago she slept from 7:30pm to 6:30am ... Incredible!  Everything seems to be improving since I bought her a new cup that she finds easier to drink out of.

Her walking also continues to improve.  she still prefers to crawl, but when she's up for it she can walk quite a distance.  She's a pro at getting up onto her feet without something to hold onto, and she can balance forever on her feet.

However, we are currently having a face off with her lunch.  Fruit, honey and peanut butter sandwiches cut with cookie cutters, squash and beef stroganoff have all been met with resistance.  I guess we'll just have to go uptown for Beavertails!

Oh ... AND tooth number 11 is on it's way - her bottom left next to her middle teeth.

The drink hole has become her 'no thank you' pile
