Balance

The wee girl has been standing on her own quite a bit in the last few days.  She likes to climb up so she's holding on to something, then slowly let go and balance.  Yesterday she bent down and picked up a bag of toys all while standing!  Last picture is her balancing without holding on.

Bubba/Gampy Visit

With daddy being away a lot recently, Bubba/Gampy came to help out with the Wee Lady!

Wee M continues to be an independent explorer ... she has recently discovered that there is a lock on the cupboard in the bathroom and she was yanking on it yesterday trying to get it open!  She is still quite happy (most of the time) and tonight she ate about as much as we've seen her eat of 'real' food.  She had a good handful of pasta and then had some yogourt, strawberries and a cookie.  She is really happy at daycare as was evidenced today by the green paint in her hair.  Every day we get the same report about how happy she was.  We went to the Santa Claus parade on Saturday night and she was attentive for all but about 5 minutes at the end which is pretty good considering it was 1 1/2 hrs in length.  Wee M is still sleeping pretty well.  She gets up 2-3 times a night still, but what has changed recently is being able to put her down for the night while she is still somewhat awake.  We can plop her down, put the pink blanket over her (which she loves) and once she gets her little hand around the blanket, she settles right down.  Usually the binky and elephant music aren't needed until later in the night.  We continue to work on her walking, but she's such a careful lady that she doesn't want to let go!

Water Girl

Chippette is proving to be quite the little water girl.  It started out a few months ago when she would lay down on her belly during her bath and play around in the water.  Now, it has progressed into falling backwards onto her back, using the side of the tub to break her fall, and splashing and splashing and splashing .... .  Sometimes the water gets into her eyes and mouth but she doesn't seem to care at all! She just keeps smiling and splashing and splashing .......

I can feed myself ...

... no problem!
